RAVAGE Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement
September 15, 2009Boston, Massachusetts metallers RAVAGE have parted ways with drummer George "GTB" Bellofatto and replaced him with Pete Webber.
Commented singer Al Ravage, "Change has been a constant in this band since we began quite a while back, but I had hoped our most recent lineup would be stable for once. Unfortunately, that was not in the cards and once again we have a change in the rhythm section.
"GTB has left the band to concentrate on his career outside of music and we wish him the best of luck with that and with any future musical projects he may undertake.
"We were lucky enough to have enlisted the aid of a great young local drummer named Pete Webber and we can now announce that he will be a permanent member of RAVAGE. Pete has played all of the dates on our current U.S. tour, including our successful CD-release party and he brings an abundance of skill and creativity. His performances have already gotten rave reviews from those in attendance and I have no doubt that his playing will add a new element of power, speed, and musical depth to future recordings."
BrooklynRocks conducted an interview with Al Ravage on August 21, 2009 when RAVAGE performed at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey. Watch the chat below.
RAVAGE released its new album, "The End of Tomorrow", on August 18 via Metal Blade Records. The CD features cover art by Ed Repka (MEGADETH, DEATH, AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE).
According to a press release, RAVAGE's new album "seamlessly intertwines the sounds of New Wave of British Heavy Metal, late '80s American thrash metal and late '90s European power metal to showcase the band's signature style. 'The End of Tomorrow' is sure to be enjoyed by metal maniacs young and old as it blends the soaring vocal and guitar melodies of IRON MAIDEN and HELLOWEEN with the raw power of thrashers like TESTAMENT and KREATOR, presented in a crisply modern production style."
